Strong second half leads Buffs to victory 
COLUMBIA, S.C. (Oct. 16, 2019) – The Milligan College women's soccer team defeated Columbia International University Wednesday night 3-1 to improve their record to 7-2-1 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. The Buffs have yet to lose a road game this season with their record on the road being 4-0-1. 
First half 
CIU jumped out early with a goal in the second minute to put them ahead 1-0. Their goal was scored by Tara Collins with an assist by McKenzie Miller. The Rams held on to their lead the entire first half as that was the only goal scored in the first 45 minutes of play. 
Second half 
Milligan came out dominant in the second half where all three of their goals were scored. The first goal was scored by Bekah Cundiff in the first three minutes of play. The next goal was scored two minutes later by Ellie Cachiaras. Cachiaras scored the goal off of a corner kick shot by Ashlen Burch. The corner kick was received in the middle of the box and passed out to Cachiaras who took the shot.
The third goal of the night came in the 62nd minute from a corner kick received by Isabella Cranford who then headed it in. This was Cranford's first goal of the year. 
By the numbers 
Milligan outshot Columbia International 17-2 with nine shots on goal. Cundiff and Audra Morgan had four shots and six shots respectively and each had three shots on goal. Milligan forced Rams goalkeeper Nadia Threatt to make seven saves on the night, and CIU's only shot on the goal was the goal they scored. 
Up next 
The Buffs return home Saturday, Oct. 19, for another AAC matchup against Brenau. After that Milligan only has two regular season games left in their schedule before the AAC tournament begins. With tonight's win Milligan jumps to third place in the AAC standings with 22 points.
