Milligan College, Tenn. (April 13, 2010) --- The Milligan College men's tennis team fell to NCAA Division II Bluefield State Tuesday afternoon at the Mathes Tennis Center 9-0.

In the No. 1 doubles match, the duo of Ricky Jones (Elizabethton, Tenn.) and Wesley Rice (Knoxville, Tenn.) hung tough but eventually fell to the Blues top two 8-3. After dropping the opening set 2-6, Bryan Upshaw (Kingsport, Tenn.) battled back in the No. 4 singles to win the next set 6-2 before eventually falling in the tie breaker 10-6. Newcomer Mickey Brown (Blountville, Tenn.) came close in the No. 5 singles losing 6-4 in both sets.


For the year, the Buffs fall to 3-8 overall and remain at 3-1 in the AAC.

Milligan hosts No. 10 Union (Ky.) College for their final AAC match of the regular season Saturday, April 17, at the Mathes Tennis Center with the action scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
