Hall of Fame
The Milligan University Athletics program has a proud heritage of top student-athletes participating in competitive intercollegiate athletics. The Milligan Buffaloes compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national affiliation. In the past 10 years, Milligan has won more than 40 conference titles. Additionally, more than 60 teams have qualified for the national tournament, and over 250 athletes have earned an individual national qualifier.
ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
The Milligan University Athletics Hall of Fame exists to honor outstanding athletes, coaches and other significant participants in the athletics program of Milligan University. Induction serves to encourage and increase awareness of individuals' significant achievements in and contributions to athletics and to provide a physical archiving of some of the university's finest alumni, coaches and friends.
QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify, the candidate must be an alumnus/a of Milligan University or have had a significant association with the Milligan University athletics program. (e.g. Dr. Orvel Crowder, who was inducted in 1996, was not an alumnus but was a professor and distinguished wrestling coach.)
If an alumnus/a, the candidate must have graduated at least five years prior to date of nomination. However, greater consideration will be given to those who have graduated 10 or more years prior to the date of nomination.
The candidate must have brought distinction to Milligan University through athletics participation at Milligan.
The candidate must demonstrate high standards of integrity and Christian character.
NOMINATION PROCESS
Nominations must include a completed nomination form and data supporting the candidate's accomplishments (this data may consist of statistics, newspaper clippings, letters of reference, etc.). Anonymous nominations will not be considered.
- Nominations may be accepted from alumni, faculty, staff, administration and relatives of nominees.
- Nominations may remain active for three nominating periods.
- Nominations received by May 15 of the calendar year will be considered for the calendar year; nominations received after May 15 will be considered in the following calendar year.
