Milligan  College, Tenn. (September 18, 2010) --- The Milligan College  men's soccer team  defeated Southern Wesleyan University 4-3 in an  overtime win on Saturday at  Anglin Field.
Nimely Robertson (Liberia)  struck first for Milligan scoring in the third minute,  giving the Buffs  a 1-0 lead. Southern Wesleyan responded with a goal from  defender  Stephen Tolan in the sixth minute to tie the game 1-1. In the 15th   minute, 
Nahom Tekle (Ethiopia) scored the go-ahead goal on  a corner kick from 
Daniel Fuller  (Plainfield, Ind.). 
Sandre Wilson  (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.) punctuated the first half with another goal for  Milligan in the 41st minute, putting the Buffs up 3-1 at halftime.
Midfielder Carlos Silva scored the first  goal of  the second half for the Warriors in the 61st minute and  assisted the  next goal from midfielder Henry Villafranco in the 67th  minute.  Regulation play ended with the game tied 3-3.
The game ended on a goal from Wilson  in the 93rd minute, giving the Buffs the win.
Defensively, 
Alexander Haun (Knoxville, Tenn.) recorded four saves in the game, including  one save in the final five seconds of the second half.
“It was a good start for us,” Head  Coach 
Adam Laney  said about the  first half. “I'm proud of the guys for grinding it out  even when the tide was  going against us in the second half, but we  managed to switch the momentum.”
With this win, Milligan advances to 2-4 and  remains 1-0 in AAC conference play.
The Buffs travel to Union College for  their first  road conference game on Saturday, Sept. 25. Game time is set for 4   p.m.
