Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Milligan men's soccer outlasts Bryan

Milligan College, Tenn. (Oct. 19, 2011) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team remained perfect in AAC action as they picked up a 2-0 victory over Bryan College at Anglin Field on Wednesday afternoon.

In the first half, both teams fought each other as well as the elements as a steady rain fell down onto the field. Neither team was able to find the back of the net as they went into the locker room at the half scoreless.

The Buffaloes broke onto the board in the 60th minute when AAC Player of the week Chris Ochieng (Narobi, Kenya) beat a Lion defender and found the back of the net. Aarron Hoffman (High Point, N.C.) added to the Buffaloes advantage in the 80th minute as he knocked in a Nahom Tekle (Ethiopia) pass. The Milligan defense kept the Lions at bay for the remainder of the game to secure the victory.

Defensively, Alex Haun (Knoxville, Tenn.) recorded the shutout with four saves in the contest.

“It was a sloppy, wet and cold battle, and it was good battle from both sides,” Head Coach Adam Laney said. “We are definitely happy to come out on top as it was one of those games where you never know what is going to happen. I'm proud of the guys for fighting through and fighting the elements.”

With the win, Milligan improves to 6-0 in the AAC and 10-4 overall.

The Buffaloes return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 26, when they host No. 24 Tennessee Wesleyan with the AAC regular season title on the line. Game time at Anglin Field is set for 4 p.m.
