Wilson powers Milligan soccer past Montreat

Montreat, N.C. (Oct. 4, 2011) – The Milligan College men's soccer team picked up a 4-0 AAC victory over Montreat College on Tuesday afternoon in Montreat, N.C., as Sandre Wilson (Mandeville, Jamaica) scored all four goals for the Buffaloes.

   Wilson scored the first goal of the game in the 32nd minute off of a Moise Leonce (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) pass. Chris Ochieng (Nairobi, Kenya) found Wilson in the 37th minute to give the Buffaloes a 2-0 lead at the break.

   Wilson found the back of the net off of another Ochieng pass to open the second half scoring. Nimely Robertson (Liberia) recorded an assist on Wilson's final goal of the afternoon.

   Defensively, Dan Ball (Chatham, England) recorded the shutout for the Buffaloes.

   “It was a good game for us, and it was nice to get a convincing result,” Head Coach Adam Laney said. “It was also nice to get the shutout on the road, and carry the momentum into Thursday's nonconference game.”

   With the win, Milligan improves to 4-0 in AAC action and 7-2 overall.

   The Buffaloes return to action on Thursday, Oct. 6, when they host Young Harris College in a nonconference clash. Game time at Anglin Field is slated for 4 p.m.
