Milligan College, Tenn. (Apr. 17, 2011) --- The Milligan College tennis program saw both teams come up short to NCAA Division II Lincoln Memorial University on Sunday afternoon at Mathes Tennis Center. The women fell 5-4 and the men fell 9-0.
In women's doubles, the team of
Kayla Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and
Ahmee Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) picked up a 8-4 victory, while JoLynee Heidt (Kingsport, Tenn.) and
Jessie Rose Remegi (Hilton Head, S.C.) grabbed a 9-8 win.
Hallie Winfrey (Fayetteville, Ga.) and Heidt picked up singles victories for the Buffaloes.
“I really think this was the best we have played all year,” Head Coach
Ryan Reynolds said. “We are starting to come along, and everyone is starting to peak heading into conference.”
The Milligan men hung tough, but were unable to grab a victory against LMU.
The Buffaloes women will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, April 23, when they travel to Gainesville, Ga., to Brenau University.
