Cedarville, Ohio. (Sept. 10, 2011) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team picked up a 4-1 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene on Saturday afternoon on the second day of the Dave Jones Memorial Classic hosted by Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio.
The Cougars opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Chris Allen found the net. However, it was all Milligan from that point.
Sandre Wilson (Mandeville, Jamaica) knocked a header into the net off of a
Moise Leonce (Port-Au-Prince, Haiti) pass in the 21st minute. Wilson scored again in the 28th minute when he kicked a rebound in with the assist of
Chris Ochieng (Nairobi, Kenya).
Ochieng took advantage of a penalty kick in the 35th minute to put Milligan up 3-0 at the half.
Nimely Robertson (Liberia) capped off the scoring off of a pass from Wilson to give the Buffaloes the final margin of victory.
Defensively, freshman
Dan Ball (Chatham, England) recorded five saves in his first collegiate start.
With the win, Milligan improves to 2-2 on the season.
The Buffaloes return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 13, when they host the University of the Cumberlands at Anglin Field. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
