Milligan College, Tenn. (Sept. 11, 2012) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team picked up a 2-0 victory over Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Montreat College on Tuesday night at Anglin Field.

  The Buffaloes struck early when
Nahom Tekle (Ethiopia) found the goal in the fifth minute to give Milligan an early 1-0 lead. Tekle nearly struck again in the 41
st minute when his shot hit the crossbar, but neither team could break onto the board as Milligan took a 1-0 lead into the half.

  In the second half, the Milligan defense kept Montreat at bay.
Rusty Baxter (Knoxville, Tenn.) saw two shots saved by the Cavaliers' keeper in the period, and
Paidiwa Mushayamunda (Harare, Zimbabwe) to increase the Milligan lead off of a
Chris Ochieng (Nairobi, Kenya) assist.

  Defensively,
Dan Ball (Chatham, England) recorded three saves in the match.

  “We are making progress and looking better every game,” Head Coach
Adam Laney said. “We haven't put the complete package together yet, but we are making steps forward which is great to see.

  With the win, Milligan improves to 2-0 in AAC action and 4-2 overall.

  The Buffaloes return to action on Saturday, Sept. 15, when they travel to Virginia Intermont for an AAC clash. Match time is slated for 7 p.m., in Bristol, Va.ÂÂ
