Buffaloes men's soccer picks up AAC win over VI

Bristol, Va. (Sept. 15, 2012) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team picked up a 1-0 Appalachian Athletic Conference victory over Virginia Intermont on Saturday night in Bristol, Va.
 
   Neither team was able to get anything going in the game's opening minutes. However, Milligan broke the stalemate in the 34th minute when Chris Ochieng (Nairobi, Kenya) broke free for a goal to give the Buffaloes a 1-0 lead at the break.
 
   In the second half, neither team was unable to capitalize on early shots. The Buffaloes used solid defense and kept the Cobras at bay to secure the victory.       
 
   Defensively, Dan Ball (Chatham, England) recorded eight saves to record the shutout.
 
   With the win, Milligan improves to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
 
   The Buffaloes return to action on Saturday, Sept. 22, when they travel to Point University for an AAC clash. Match time in West Point, Ga., is slated for 2 p.m.
