West Point, Ga. (Sept. 22, 2012) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team used two second half goals from
Chris Ochieng (Nairobi, Kenya) to pick up a 2-0 Appalachian Athletic Conference win over Point University on Saturday in East Point, Ga.
The first half saw neither team able to get a goal on the board. However, the Buffaloes responded in the second half as Ochieng found the goal in the early going of the half.
ÂÂ
Ochieng added another goal in the 80th minute for the Buffaloes as the Milligan defense limited the Skyhawks' chances to secure the victory.
"We came out sluggish to open the game," Head Coach
Adam Laney said. "It was a hot day and a long trip, but I felt we responded in the second half. We came out with a lot more energy and got the result that we wanted."
ÂÂ
With the win, Milligan improves to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in AAC action.
ÂÂ
The Buffaloes return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 25, when they host Mid-Continent University. Match time at Anglin Field is slated for 6:30 p.m. ÂÂ
