Milligan College, Tenn. (Sept. 25, 2012) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team answered a late Mid-Continent University goal to pick up their fifth straight win with a 2-1 victory over the Cougars on Tuesday night in nonconference action at Anglin Field.

  The opening half was an even battle as neither team could capitalize on chances. Milligan saw shots by
Nimely Robertson (Liberia),
Jonathon Colson (Johnson City, Tenn.) and
Aaron Hoffman (High Point, N.C.) go wide, while
Dan Ball (Chatham, England) and the Buffaloes defense kept the Cougars off the scoreboard. After Milligan saw a shot by
Rusty Baxter (Knoxville, Tenn.) saved in the final minutes, both teams went to the locker room scoreless at the break.

  The Buffaloes struck first in the second half as Robertson scored off of an assist from
Nahom Tekle (Ethopia). Jonathon Alvarado evened the score in the 76
th minute for the Cougars, but Milligan quickly responded as Robertson beat the Mid-Continent keep to score his second goal of the game in the 77
th minute.

  Defensively, Ball recorded three saves in the net for Milligan.

  With the win, Milligan improves to 7-3 overall and remain 4-0 in AAC action.
