Buffaloes men's soccer remains undefeated in AAC action

Milligan College, Tenn. (Sept. 29, 2012) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team remained undefeated in Appalachian Athletic Conference action as they defeated Union College 4-1 on Saturday night at Anglin Field.
 
   The Buffaloes opened the game's scoring as Nahom Tekle (Ethopia) defeated the Union keeper in the 20th minute to give Milligan an early 1-0 lead. After Jonathon Watson evened the contest at one goal apiece in the 23rd minute, Chris Ochieng (Nairobi, Kenya) put Milligan back ahead with a goal in the 26th minute. Neither team was able to score again in the half as Milligan led 2-1 at the break.
 
   In the second half, Lucas Maia (Rio de Janeiro) increased the Milligan lead as he scored off a Tekle assist in the 75th minute. The Buffaloes defense increased the pressure on Union to preserve the victory in the final 15 minutes, while Ochieng scored his second goal of the night in the closing minutes to cap the scoring.
 
   Defensively, Dan Ball (Chatham, England) recorded three saves.
 
   The Buffaloes improve to 5-0 in AAC play and 8-2 overall.
 
   Milligan returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 2, when they host NCAA Division II Carson-Newman College. Match time is slated for 7 p.m., at Anglin Field.
