Men's tennis picks up AAC win at Montreat

MONTREAT, N.C. (March 29, 2015) -- In contrast to last weekend's lengthy dual doubleheader which saw the Milligan College tennis teams win four matches and compete for nearly eight hours, Sunday saw the Buffalo men defeat Montreat College 9-0 in one of the quickest matches of the season.

Milligan (4-5, 2-2 Appalachian Athletic Conference) surrendered only eight games across three doubles wins and was forced beyond straight sets in only one singles match, a super tie breaker comeback win for Matias Yanez. While Jackson Lenoir's and Fernando Gonzalez's matches were won in eight-game pro sets, Colin Bumann, Braden White and Daniel Peacock won in regulation two.

Lenoir's match marked his team-leading sixth singles win of the season.

Milligan will travel with the women's team to SCAD Atlanta for another AAC dual match against the Bees on Friday, April 3. Both teams will be back home on Saturday, April 4, at 11 a.m. for an AAC meeting with Point University.
