MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Aug. 21, 2015) â€" Despite battling to a scoreless match after one half, the Milligan College men's soccer team could not keep up in the second half, and fell to No. 21 SCAD Savannah 4-1 Friday night at Anglin Field in the Buffs season opener.

Milligan fell to 0-1 in the season, while SCAD Savannah notched its first victory of the season to bring its record to 1-1 overall.

Milligan's offense was paced by
Jonathan Colson, who had three shots, and
Harrison Genseal, who had two.
ÂÂ
Milligan fought hard and played strong for over 50 minutes before giving up two goals in less than 50 seconds during the 51st minute. Naim El-Harriti and Jordan Trinci-Lyne netted the two goals for SCAD.

SCAD scored again in the 64th when Callum Etches took the pass from Torin Melville and hit the back of the net behind Milligan keeper
Nick Smith.

SCAD's final tally of the night came less than five minutes later when Trinci-Lyne scored for the second time.

Milligan, however, continued to fight and found pay dirt in the 88th minute on a goal by sophomore
Josh Willard.

Smith stopped four shots for the Buffaloes, while SCAD's keeper Frenando Zeledon finished with five saves for the Bees.

Overall on the night, Milligan was outshot 17-10 by SCAD, and also trailed in shots on goal 8-6.

Next up, Milligan will stay at home to welcome the Columbia International University Rams Saturday at 3 p.m.
