LAURINBURG, N.C. (Oct. 21, 2017) â€" The Milligan College men's soccer team closed out the 2017 road season Saturday afternoon with a 5-1 loss at Appalachian Athletic Conference foe St. Andrews University.
ÂÂ
Freshman
Rhys Borror scored the lone goal for Milligan in the 83rd minute, but it proved too late as St. Andrews built a 3-0 lead by the end of the first half and extended it to 4-0 by the time Borror put the Buffs on the board.
ÂÂ
The goal was Borror's team leading fifth goal of the season, matching senior
Jack Allan's count as the top producers for Milligan's offense. Fellow freshman
Matthew Crow was credited with the assist.
ÂÂ
Milligan was outshot 15-6 in the game, including 10-3 on shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper
Nick Smith made five saves to bring his career total to 254. Bryan Newbold (2005-2009) holds the Milligan saves record with 264 career saves.
ÂÂ
Milligan has one more match remaining on the regular-season slate, a nonconference game against Pfeiffer University on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 6:30 p.m. The game will take place on Anglin Field as part of Milligan's 2017 homecoming weekend.
