DALTON, Ga. (Sept. 7, 2019) – The Milligan College men's soccer team lost to Dalton State College 2-0 Saturday afternoon on the road.
Dalton State scored its goals late in each half, breaking the scoring open in the 42nd minute before rounding it out with a consolation goal in the 83rd. Milligan was outshot 13-7 in the loss, including 9-6 on shots on goal.
Roberto Fernandez Garrido paced Milligan's attack with two shots on frame, leading a pack of five Buffaloes who registered a shot on target. Jared Whittenbarger tallied seven saves.
Up next, Milligan faces Cumberland University Tuesday at 5 p.m. on Anglin Field. This will mark Milligan's last match prior to the start of Appalachian Athletic Conference play.
