MILLIGAN, Tenn. (February 20, 2022) – The Milligan University men's tennis team earned a well-contested 4-3 victory over Pikeville at the Mathes Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.

Derian Janeke clinched the one-point victory with a triumph in a second set tiebreaker to earn a 6-3, 7-6 win at No. 4 singles.

Milligan swept through doubles play to earn the match's first point. Nathan Smiley and Janeke combined for a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Carter Rigsby and Marcos Moreno took a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles and Ryan Thomas and Justin Rigsby earned a 7-5 win at third doubles.

The Buffs took the fourth, fifth and sixth singles to earn the narrow one point win. In addition to Janeke's point, Justin Rigsby secured a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles and Thomas captured a 6-3, 6-0 victory at sixth singles.

Milligan returns to action Wednesday against No. 9 Union at the Mathes Tennis Center.
