HILTON HEAD, S.C. (March 11, 2022) – The Milligan University men's and women's tennis teams took on Missouri Valley on Friday morning at Hilton Head. The Buffs' women's tennis team scored a 5-2 victory while Missouri Valley won the men's matchup 4-2.

Milligan's men are now 9-4 on the season while the women rise to 9-3. Missouri Valley now stands at 5-6 in men's tennis and 1-8 in women's tennis.

In the women's contest, Kylie Enarson, Sophie Dunman, Karson Light and Hannah Nelson all scored singles wins. Enarson took No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-0, Dunman won at third singles 6-4, 6-0, Light's opponent retired in the first set of No. 5 singles and Nelson earned a 6-3, 6-1 decision at sixth singles.

Kaitlin Barrett and Makenna Peterson took first doubles 6-1 and Dunman and Enarson combined for a 6-0 triumph at second doubles.

In the men's match, Carter Rigsby won 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2 singles and Derian Janeke secured a 7-5, 3-6, 10-8 super tiebreaker win over at fourth singles. Ryan Thomas and Marcos Moreno both took tough luck super tiebreaker losses at sixth and third singles.

Nathan Smiley and Janeke also notched a 6-3 win at top doubles.

Milligan concludes its spring break trip against Coastal Georgia tomorrow morning.
