LEBANON, Tenn. (August 26, 2023) – The Milligan University men's soccer team had newcomers score all three goals as the Buffs blanked Cumberland 3-0 for the Buffs' first win of the Paddy Sweeney era on Saturday afternoon.

In a matchup of teams receiving votes in the NAIA preseason rankings, the Buffs emerged with the win and move to 1-1 on the year. The Phoenix fall to 0-1.

Boikaego Mbaakanyi scored the game's opening goal in the 15th minute as Milligan carried a 1-0 edge into halftime. Alex Panner in the 66th and Santiago Corral in the 70th pushed the Buffs' lead to the final score of 3-0.

Inaki Moreno assisted all three goals to become Milligan's all-time leader in career assists with 30.

Ludvig Wille and Adria Alles split a shoutout effort, combining for three saves on the day.

The Buffs host Carolina University on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
