Milligan Men's Bowling Finishes Fourth at Thomas Burris Memorial

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Milligan University men's bowling squad continued their weekend in Louisville on Sunday, scoring a fourth-place finish out of 21 teams, matching their finish from the Lynne Jordan memorial on Saturday. 

Overall, the Buffaloes knocked down a total of 5,558 pins, with four team games (3,920) and eight baker games (1,638). Milligan JV1 earned a triumph out of 14 JV1 teams with 5,712 pins for the day. 

Ethan Collier was a big reason why the Buffaloes turned in a top-flight JV1 finish, as he came in fifth place as an individual with 868 pins and a single-game high of 236 in his third team game. He averaged 217 pins for the tournament in team games. 

Another Milligan JV1 bowler finished in the top 20, as Bryant Griffith tallied 836 pins, averaging 209 per game. He had a single-game best of 218 in his third team game. 

The varsity squad's top finisher was David Gilliam, who boasted an 829-pin total. He had 246 in his first team game, but did not break the 200 mark in any of the remaining three. He averaged 207 pins per game. 

For the Buffs' JV1 squad, it was a 23rd-place finish from Jackson McRae that was next on the list, as he had 817 pins with a single-game high of 236 in his first team game. The spot just behind him was nabbed by Jameson Whaley, who was bowling for Milligan JV2. He scored 817 pins to match McRae and had a single-game best of 255 in his final battle. 

Aiden Bailey's 36th-place showing included 782 pins and a 196-pin average. His best game came in game four with 211 pins.  

Milligan's final finisher in the top 50 was Jake Littlejohn, who placed 48th with a 769-pin total. His top game of the day was a 232 in his final team game. 

The squad's next competition will take place on Feb. 1-2 in the NAIA Southeast Regional in Atlanta, Ga.
