SALEM, Va. – The No. 6-ranked Milligan University men's cross country team ran at the Roanoke Cross Country Invitational in Salem, Va. on Saturday morning, with nine runners total competing. The Buffaloes placed 10th of 21 attending programs.
Elijah Gouge was the Buffs' top finisher, as he crossed the line in 27:22.4 to place 73rd as an individual.
Andrew Whaley had a strong run, finishing 81st at 27:39.1.
Ethan Bennett clocked in at 27:44.3 to finish in 83rd place.
Daniel Hornbuckle's 86th-place run concluded in 27:50.7, making him the fourth MU finisher.
It was
Joshua Starr who finished fifth for Milligan, in 91st place, with a mark of 27:54.6 as the last Buffs finisher. Following him was
Jaiden Carmichael at the century mark in 100th. He notched a time of 28:06.6.
Mitchell McCown (28:25.6),
Talan Hammack (29:38.8) and
Benjamin Cox (33:31.5) rounded out the list of Milligan harriers.
Now, the Buffaloes head to the NAIA Appalachian Challenge on Friday, Oct. 24 in Knoxville, Tenn. where they will face off with some of the NAIA's top programs in preparation for the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championships on Nov. 7.
