DECATUR, Ala. — On Saturday, the Milligan University cheer squad competed in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Championships in Decatur, Ala. As a team, the Buffaloes placed ninth with 66.97 points.

In addition to the ninth-place finish, Milligan had the conference's Rookie of the Year in freshman Brylee Pennington, who spent her first season as the flyer for the Buffs and made an immediate impact.

As part of the weekend's festivities, the SSAC also announced the Barnes & Noble All-Academic Team, which featured Morgan Dyer, Kaley Ford and Emma Harrison from the Buffs. Ford was also named the team's Champion of Character.
