MILLIGAN, Tenn. - The Milligan University men's tennis squad continued their season on Tuesday afternoon at Mathes Tennis Center, as the Buffs did battle with the NCAA Division II Lees-McRae College Bobcats. The non-conference tussle went the way of the visitors, as Milligan was unable to take a point in the contest.
In singles, Martin Mercarder and Thiago Petry were the only two Buffaloes to win a set in their contests, but fell in first-to-10 tiebreaks in both instances. Mercarder dropped the No. 3 singles matchup by a final of 6-4, 2-6, 0-1 (4-10). Petry's effort was similar in the No. 4 bout, as he lost 6-2, 2-6, 0-1 (8-10).
The doubles contest was dominated by LMC, as the No. 2 doubles tilt was the closest score at 6-4, which Petry and Marcos Moreno achieved.
The next event on the schedule for Milligan tennis is Senior Day on Apr. 5 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) battle for both the men and women against Johnson University at 2 p.m.
