Buffaloes Men's 4x800 Relay Squad Completes Sweep of 2025 NAIA Track Titles at Outdoor Championships

MARION, Ind. — Day two of Milligan University outdoor track & field's trip to the NAIA Championships resulted in a national championship, as well as a single individual qualification for Friday's finals.

Ellen-Mary Kearney was the first athlete to run on Thursday, as she competed in the 800m and placed second in her heat at 2:11.85. That time was short of reaching the finals by just 0.03 seconds and one spot in the standings, as she placed 10th overall.

Luis Peralta's men's 800m race saw him win the second of three heats with a time of 1:51.69. He had the fifth-fastest time in the event, overall and will now look forward to Friday's final.

Milligan's men's 4x800m Relay team, consisting of Carter Windham, Bryn Woodall, Sylas Chambers and Peralta—in that order—finished as the NAIA's National Champion with a Milligan-record mark of 7:30.14 to outlast Oklahoma City University for the victory. Peralta, as the anchor, held off a late run to win by 0.05 seconds. The Buffaloes now own the national title in both the indoor and outdoor campaigns in the 4x800 in 2025.

The last event to run for the evening was the men's 4x400m Relay, which saw Aaron Vaughn, Brayden Simpson, Carter Windham and Kaleb Spears team up for a time of 3:19.41, which placed them 30th overall.

It's Finals day on the track on Friday, as Kearney will kick things off for the Buffs with a 1500m run at 2 p.m., in an event that she qualified second. Then, Woodall will do the same for the men's 1500m at 2:10 p.m. Peralta's quest for the men's 800m title will start at 4 p.m. to finish the Buffaloes' season. Telford will end the Buffaloes' day in the 5000m final at 4:55 p.m.
