MARION, Ind. — The final day of the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships was a booming success for the Milligan University outdoor track squads, as they boasted an individual national champion and an NAIA Runner-Up on the last day of competition. Those efforts helped earn the men a tie for 13th place with 20 points as a squad, and the women ended up tying for 31st with eight points.
The Buffaloes' Ellen-Mary Kearney began the afternoon with the women's 1500m final, in which she ended up with a second-place finish at 4:23.10. That effort brought home eight points for the women and made her an NAIA All-American.
Immediately after that, Bryn Woodall hurried to a men's 1500m National Championship with a mark of 3:41.93, which was a new personal and Milligan-record time. Woodall has now won titles in the indoor and outdoor seasons during his final year with the Buffaloes after taking home the Mile title with an NAIA record in the indoor campaign.
Later in the afternoon, Luis Peralta placed ninth in his 800m final, clocking in at 1:56.25.
In Milligan's final event Winston Telford ran the men's 5000m, ending up in 15th place with his time of 15:21.78.
Milligan had their 2024-25 athletics seasons come to a close with a pair of national champions being crowned, in the men's 4x800m Relay (Carter Windham, Woodall, Sylas Chambers and Peralta), as well as Woodall's 1500m. They also saw a national runner-up in the form of Kearney's 1500m. The Buffs look forward to more of the same in 2025-26.
