JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – On Saturday, the Milligan University swimming programs traveled west to Jefferson City, Tenn. where they met up with both the host Carson-Newman University and Lenoir-Rhyne University (N.C.) for duals. After the swims had been completed, Milligan's men and women both won against LRU, but fell to C-N in both competitions.
The day began with 200 Yard Medley Relays, with the Buffs placing third in the men's race with a time of 1:34.61.
Riley Renaud would take home the crown in 10:58.32 in the women's 1000 Yard Freestyle for the Buffs as their first event winner.
Peter Gilbert placed fifth in the men's version of the race, completing a 10:17.16 for his final time.
Abigail Maniace's time of 2:00.48 in the women's 200 Yard Freestyle equaled Milligan's top time in the race.
A fourth-place showing from
Wyatt Pierce in the men's 200 Yard Freestyle concluded in 1:49.06 for the Buffs.
Mia Windham's 100 Yard Backstroke performance placed her fifth with a time of 1:02.16.
RJ Brumit's 54.08-second swim in the men's 100 Yard Backstroke also earned him a fifth-place finish for MU.
Milligan's men's 100 Yard Breastsroke pole sitter was
Robert Adam, who came away with a runner-up placement in 56.95 seconds.
Caleb Fry ended up in fifth, clocking in at 58.19.
Katelyn Williams, in the women's 200 Yard Butterfly, came away with fifth place in 2:23.81.
The second event winner of the day was
Christoph Haenel, who won the men's 200 Yard Butterfly in 1:50.46.
Nolan Hill (2:02.61) and
Jack Allen (2:04.57) came in fourth and fifth.
Emily Dubes came away with a 25.48 to place fourth in the women's 50 Yard Freestyle.
Paxton Smith's 21.41 in the men's version of the event placed him in third.
Dubes then came in second in the men's 100 Yard Freestyle at 55.46, while
Madison Akbari came in fourth in 56.78 seconds.
Windham continued her strong day by placing fifth in the women's 200 Yard Backstroke, finishing the swim in 2:13.15.
It was Smith for the men in the 200 Yard Backstroke, as he placed fifth in 1:57.48.
The men's 200 Yard Breaststroke was dominated by
Elijah Holliman, who swam a 2:04.02 mark to win the event. Two spots behind him was Adam in 2:08.39.
Renaud's runner-up finish in the women's 500 Yard Freestyle came in 5:23.14.
Rosalee Wenhame placed fourth in 5:50.53.
Gilbert came in fourth for the men in the 500 Yard Freestyle, posting a 4:58.45 time.
Maniace's 1:00.21 clip in the women's 100 Yard Butterfly earned her second place in the event.
Haenel would win the men's 100 Yard Butterfly, clocking in at 49.59, just 0.05 behind his best mark ever. Brumit came in third in 51.72 for Milligan.
Adam dominated the men's 200 Yard Individual Medley, coming in first with a time of 1:53.28.
The women's 400 Yard Medley Relay resulted in a fourth-place conclusion for the Buffs, as they finished in 3:45.86.
Milligan's men's 'A' team raced the 400 Yard Medley Relay to a second-place finish in 3:09.60, while the 'B' team came in fifth with a mark of 3:14.15.

Next week, the two teams will be heading to Williamsburg, Ky. to face the Patriots of the University of the Cumberlands on Jan. 24.
