SAVANNAH, Ga. – On Saturday and Sunday, the Milligan women's bowling program took part in the NAIA Southeast Open #1 and #2 in Savannah, Ga. at Bowlero Savannah. After snatching a second-place finish in the first event, the Buffaloes grabbed the baker title in the latter competition.

The two events began with a five team-game battle on Saturday, as the Buffs placed as the runners-up with a team total of 4,779 pins, including a top score of 1,052 in their third game. The second event was a long 25 baker-game competition. The Buffs came away with 4,781 pins to win the format with a top showing of 256 pins in their seventh baker.

On day one, Paige Fortier completed a standout tournament, toppling 1,016 pins across five team games for a 203.2-pin average to place fourth overall and bring home All-Tournament honors. She bowled for over 200 pins in three of the five, with her best total of 233 coming in the third battle.

Emily Cheesman was good in the first tourney, as well, knocking down 995 pins to place sixth. Her average of 199 pins came with a high score of 236 in her opening contest.

Laci MacQuisten (13^th), Emily King (14^th) and Braeton Wilson (17^th) also finished in the top 20, as all three of them bowled in four of the five team games.

The second tournament's win came after the 25 baker games, in which they outpaced their competitors by 231 pins, outdueling SCAD Savannah 4,781-4,549 overall.

The two tournaments precede this weekend's Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis as the final tune-up for the Buffaloes before they head to the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Championships in Savannah on Feb. 20-21.
