CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – On Tuesday afternoon, the (RV) Milligan University men's tennis program took part in their Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament Semifinal match against the No. 2-seeded Bees of SCAD Atlanta. As the lower seed, the Buffaloes were facing a daunting task in the bout, and they ended up falling by a 4-0 final.

The doubles matches begin with a 6-2 loss for
Michal Curlej and
Martin Mercarder in the No. 1 matchup. Then,
Brayden Kennedy and
Tomas Tenil put forth a strong fight to fall 6-4 in the No. 2 match. The No. 3 bout was being played by
Gonzaga Lafarga and
Phil Schollhorn, as they were knotted up 5-5 at the conclusion of the clinching No. 2 match.
The No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 singles tilts ended up clinching the bout for the Bees. Lafarga lost 6-1, 6-1, while Schollhorn fell 6-3, 6-1. Lastly, Kennedy dropped his battle 6-1, 7-5. The other three matches had made their way into their respective third sets. Curlej had played to a 7-6 (7-5), 1-6 score in the No. 2 match, while Mercarder (0-6, 6-1, 3-2) and Tenil (6-1, 2-6, 1-0) were battling hard in the No. 4 and No. 5 bouts.
With the Buffaloes falling to SCAD Atlanta, their AAC Tournament run comes to an end in the Semifinal round, just like it did in 2024-25. The loss most likely ends Milligan's season, but the outside chance of an at-large NAIA Championships qualification will be decided on Tuesday, April 28 at 4 p.m. ET. on the
NAIA Selection Show.
