CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Milligan University women's tennis team went up against the top team in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC), the Tennessee Wesleyan University Bulldogs, in the AAC Tournament Semifinal on Tuesday. The Bulldogs proved to be too much for the Buffs, as the top-seeded squad ended Milligan's season, 4-0.

In doubles, TWU took two victories in rather simple fashion, as
Lauren Wimmer and
Parker White were able to win one game, but fell 6-1 in match No. 2.
Tara Stewart and
Laurel Rich were blanked 6-0 in the No. 3 matchup.
Madison Berry and
Melissa Duarte did not complete their match but were trailing 5-1 at the doubles competition's conclusion.
With a 1-0 lead, Tennessee Wesleyan needed just three singles wins to clinch the victory. White was forced to retire in the No. 5 singles match trailing just 1-0 in the opening set, which gave TWU one point. Then, Rich fell 6-1 in the No. 6 tilt, before Berry was defeated 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 3 bout to end the match. On the other courts, Duarte trailed 6-1, 5-2 in the top match, while Stewart was behind 6-1, 5-1 in the No. 2 battle. Alson, Wimmer trailed 6-1, 1-0 in the No. 4 competition.
Milligan's season has come to a close for 2025-26, as the squad reached the Semifinal round of the AAC Tournament to make it in back-to-back campaigns. Their 10-8 record overall was their best since 2021-22, when they went 12-8 and reached the AAC Tournament Final.
