Buffs Take Third at AAC Championship; TeVrucht Earns All-Conference First Team

ACWORTH, Ga. — On Tuesday afternoon, No. 25 Milligan University's women's golf program closed out the AAC/NAIA Direct Qualifier at the Governors Towne Club with a third and final round. The Buffs finished the three-day tournament in third place at +74, just one stroke behind runner-up Truett-McConnell (+73), SCAD Atlanta (+51) won the championship. Individually, Mallory TeVrucht led the way for Milligan with a sixth-place finish at +17 to earn All-Conference First Team honors, while Catalina Easley made a strong final-round push to crack the top 15.

TeVrucht held onto her sixth-place position with a final-round 76, capping a top-10 tournament. She got off to a tough start with a seven on the par-five second hole, but bounced back with a birdie on the par-three eighth. She ended the front nine with a six-over-par 42 before settling in on the back nine, carding nine pars and two bogeys to finish at +8 for the round and +17 for the tournament.

Easley delivered the team's best round of the day, firing a one-over-par 73 to climb the leaderboard into 11th place at +20. She managed the front nine at three-over-par with two birdies and seven pars. Her back nine featured a birdie on the 10th and consistent play that included two bogeys complete her day at the course.

Madison Butler also climbed the leaderboard, moving up from 19th into 15th place at +24. She got off to a great start with a birdie on the par-four first, and continued with a consistent round at three-over-par 39 on the front and a back-nine 36. She finished the day at three-over-par 75.

Tessa Wilck stayed steady in the middle of the field, recording a six-over-par 78 to finish in 16th place at +26 overall. She put together a five-over-par 41 on the front and a one-over-par 37 on the back nine to round out a solid tournament.

Rounding out the Milligan effort was Bailey McGhaha in 19th place at +30. After making a strong push through the first two rounds, she struggled on the final day with an 18-over-par 86.

TWitht the third place finish, the Buffs season comes to a close.
