BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Friday, the NAIA East released its NAIA East flag football All-NAIA Teams. As part of the announcement, Milligan University's flag football program had four athletes named All-NAIA First Team and two athletes honored as Second Team, while
Lilly Rumrill made both lists as a wide receiver and special teams selection.
Krista Quinn led an air raid offensive attack as the Buffs' leading receiver to earn First Team honors. She led Milligan in receiving touchdowns on the year with 27 and was a favorite target for quarterback
Bridget Keyser, averaging a team-high 58.77 receiving yards per game. K. Quinn was a threat wherever she lined up, with elite speed to make plays after the catch and elite hands to come down with contested grabs.
Freshman
Lilly Rumrill earned First Team honors after a phenomenal inaugural season with the Buffs. She was a threat on both sides of the ball, also playing free safety on defense. Along with her First Team nod as a wide receiver, she earned Second Team honors as a punter, averaging 32.43 yards per punt. She was rarely needed with Milligan's potent offensive attack, but when she was, she came through. Rumrill's work as a receiver led to 19 touchdowns and a total of 1,117 yards on the season. Her physicality paid dividends, as she was able to come down with balls in contested passing lanes while also finding seams to break long receptions, highlighted by her 59-yard reception on the year.
Freshsman
Parker Bridges earned First Team honors after anchoring a stellar Buffs defense at linebacker that held opponents to just 7.91 points per game. She amassed 124 total flag pulls, while torturing opposing offenses with 21 sacks and 11 tackles for loss. Not only was she a threat to make plays in the backfield, but she was also effective in the secondary, coming down with 10 interceptions on the year.
Freshman
Annabelle Rhodes, the ball-hawking cornerback in Milligan's secondary, rounded out the Buffs' First Team members as an integral part of the defense. She was capable of making game-changing plays at any point of the game defensively, finding her way into passing lanes for 12 interceptions on the year. Once she took the ball away, she became a threat in the open field, racking up 191 return yards on those 12 interceptions.
Bridget Keyser earned Second Team All-NAIA honors after leading the Buffs' offense at quarterback. She etched her name in Milligan's record book as the first quarterback to throw for 87 touchdowns, leading the Buffs to a perfect 20-0 regular season while completing 72 percent of her passes. She threw for a ridiculous 4,730 yards on the year, 397 of which came in her single-game high against Ferrum on March 11.
Ashton Whearley rounded out the Milligan honors as a Second Team member as a utility offensive option. Her elite athleticism led to her impacting the game in multiple ways throughout the season. She recorded 418 rushing yards and 941 receiving yards with 28 total touchdowns. When needed, she could also take over quarterbacking duties, throwing for 804 yards and seven touchdowns on the year.
With three freshmen earning All-NAIA East honors in Rumrill, Rhodes and Bridges, alongside Keyser, Quinn and Whearley set to return, Milligan flag football has plenty of building blocks in place for the 2027 campaign.
