KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On Wednesday, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) revealed the qualifiers for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Asheville, N.C. on May 20-22. The Milligan men have four individuals and one relay team qualified, while the women will have two individuals competing across three events, as well as a relay team.
Marti Molins Rallo takes part in the men's 1500m prelims on Wednesday, May 20 at 4:10 p.m. to kick things off. He will race again in the final if he qualifies on May 22 at 3:20 p.m.
Brayden Simpson makes his outdoor nationals debut in the 400m Hurdles prelims at 4:55 p.m. on May 20. The final for that event is scheduled for 4:20 p.m. on May 22. The men's 4x800m Relay prelims, which take place at 6:50 p.m. on May 20, will include any four of
Aaron Gottlied,
Evan Holbrook,
Luis Peralta, Molins Rallo and
Carter Windham. If they make the final, they will race for the title on May 21 at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21 will see Peralta begin the 800m prelims at 2:50 p.m. as the No. 2 contender this season. With an appearance in the finals, he will race again on May 22 at 4:10 p.m. Lastly for the men,
Trevor Sinard's Discus Throw event will take place on May 22, starting at 9 a.m.
For the women, their 4x800m Relay team, including any four of
Kaylee Coll,
Joanna Halterman,
Gabriella Hoover,
Sophia Jeffers and
Karly Wilhjelm, will race in the prelims on May 20 at 6:15 p.m.
Ellen-Mary Kearney begins her event in the 3000m Steeplechase prelims on May 20 at 7:25 p.m., where she holds the No. 2 time nationally. She will race in the final with a qualification on May 22 at 2:30 p.m. Additionally, she will race in the 800m prelims on May 21 at 3:20 p.m., and she will run that distance again on May 22 at 4:05 p.m. if she qualifies for the final. Wilhjelm also qualified as an individual for the 5000m, which will occur on May 22 at 4:35 p.m.
