Graves leads the team into his first full season as the head coach, after joining Milligan near the conclusion of the 2025-26 campaign.
"We are very excited for a great year of competition," said Graves, "with some new meets in the lineup, as well as some traditional opponents that will bring out some great racing."
Milligan's first competition comes on Oct. 2-3 at a meet in Savannah, Ga., hosted by SCAD Savannah, which also includes national powerhouse St. Thomas (Fla.).
Milligan will then take a few weeks off before returning home to the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse Pool for their Homecoming and Alumni Meet against King (Tenn.) on Oct. 23 at 5 p.m.
A meet at Mars Hill (N.C.) is next on the schedule as the second straight bout against a NCAA Division II opponent. That meetup will happen on Nov. 6 at 6 p.m.
The squads' midseason meets will come at the Small College Championship Cup, hosted by Life University (Ga.) in Columbus, Ga. from Nov. 19-21.
Following the midseason meet, the two teams will return to campus in the new year and attend the Colonel Classic at Centre College in Danville, Ky. on Jan. 8-9. The first session will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 8, and the two sessions on day two will come at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Another single opponent sits next on the docket, as the Buffaloes head to yet another NCAA DII institution. Carson-Newman will host the Buffs at 11 a.m. on Jan. 16 in Jefferson City, Tenn.
Finally, Milligan comes back to Steve Lacy on senior night for the last regular-season battle against the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) Patriots at 11 a.m. on Jan. 23.
The Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships loom for the two squads, who have been dominant at the event over the last half-decade plus. They will commence on Feb. 11 and end on Feb. 13 in Kingsport, Tenn. at the Kingsport Aquatics Center.
Lastly, with qualifications, the Buffaloes will send individuals to the NAIA National Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich. on March 3-6 with designs on high finishes. The teams were both top-10 finishers in 2026.
"We are grateful for the opportunity to travel to race these teams," Graves concluded, "and are looking forward to some great experiences that will build memories for a lifetime."
