JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – On Sunday and Monday, the No. 17-ranked Milligan women's golf team opened their fall slate at the Jekyll Island Invitational at Jekyll Island Golf Club's Great Dunes Course. The Buffs concluded a strong event by placing sixth out of 15 teams in attendance.

Catalina Easley was stellar, turning in cards of 75 and 74 strokes on Sunday across the first 36 holes of the tournament. She was among the top five players on the leaderboard with a score of +5 entering Monday, and she finished with a 79, seven strokes over par, on the final round to place in a tie for 7th as an individual at +12.

Sophomore Tessa Wilck shot an impressive round of 75 in round one, before totaling 79 in the second. She bested her second-round performance in round three by one stroke, totaling 78 to finish the event at +16 and tied for 13th place.

Bailey McGaha would tie for 28th at the tournament, following up two difficult rounds on Sunday (+21, 165) with a sparkling 75 in the final round to salvage the event.

Madison Butler had a similar experience as McGaha, shooting a combined 30-over par across the opening two rounds. She then carded a 77 in round three to complete a tie for a 43rd place finish.

Layla Fox (62nd, +62) and Addie Goolsby (64th, +65) were the two scores that did not count on Milligan's roster toward the team score, and Pernilla Sühl played as an individual to place 61st at +56.

Milligan ended up just two strokes shy of a tie for fourth place with The Citadel and an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) foe, Truett McConnell. Their final tally was 946 strokes to complete the event at +82. Their third round score of 309 strokes was their best of the tourney, which is a definite spring board moving onto the next event.

After an encouraging start to their 2026 fall season, the Milligan women have their sights set on the Southeast Kentucky Orange & Black Collegiate, hosted by the University of Pikeville at Stonecrest Golf Club in Prestonsburg, Ky. on Sept. 14-15.
