Biography

Akins comes to Milligan from Catawba, S.C., where he was homeschooled and competed under head coach Adam Hare. On the track and course, he posted personal bests of 2:03 in the 800m, 4:32 in the 1600m, 9:52 in the 3200m, and 16:29 in the 5K. Academically, Akins earned South Carolina Palmetto Fellows Scholar recognition and was named to the President’s List while dual enrolling at USC Lancaster and York Technical College. He will continue his academic career at Milligan majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He is the son of Jeff and Jill Akins and has three siblings, Ethan, Micah, and Sarah Akins.
