Brendan Sweany was named the Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Communications at Milligan University in May of 2024.

In Sweany's first year manning the Sports Communications department at Milligan, he was awarded the Appalachian Athletic Conference's (AAC) Willie Belcher Sports Information Director of the Year honor for 2024-25. During the year, he assisted the conference as a statistician for the AAC women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball, and softball championships. He also covered public address announcing duties for the entirety of the AAC softball championship at the Brickyard Ball Fields in Kingsport.

From July 2023-May 2024, Sweany served as the sports information director at Clarksville Christian School in Clarksville, Tenn. He began the implementation of the sports information department at the school and ran all home sporting events for all eight of Clarksville Christian's sports. In addition to overseeing the sports information department, Sweany taught two high school media arts classes, emphasizing journalism, graphic design, and web design.

He was previously was the sports information director at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., spearheading all aspects of sports communications for the department's 17 NAIA athletic programs. He spent nearly two years at Southwestern from July 2021 to May 2023.

Sweany got his start in sports communications at Corban University in Salem, Ore., as an athletic communications intern from August 2019 through May 2021.

A graduate of San Diego Christian College in Santee, Calif. with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, he was a two-way player for the school's baseball team as a utility infielder and a relief pitcher.

He now resides in Kingsport with his wife, Bethany.
