Banner Elk, N.C. (Oct. 28, 2009) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team battled NCAA Division II Lees-McRae College Wednesday night in a non-conference matchup. After two overtime periods, the Lady Buffs and Lady Bobcats were at a 0-0 deadlock, resulting in a tie.
AAC defensive player of the week, Heather Crumplen (Courtice, Ontario) recorded three saves to keep the Lady Bobcats scoreless.
“I thought we played a smart game tonight considering the circumstances,” commented Head Coach Lisa Buckley. “We have played three games in the last five days which have all gone into overtime. Despite being tired, we battled and played with a huge amount of heart.”
Heading into their final regular season matchup of the year, the Lady Buffs are 5-4-5 overall and 3-1-2 in the AAC.
The Lady Buffs travel to Montreat College (N.C.) for their final AAC game of the regular season Sunday, Nov. 1, for a 2:30 p.m. start time.
