Milligan College, Tenn. (Nov. 10, 2009) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team knocked off the Lady Bobcats of Lees-McRae Tuesday night in Steve Lacy Fieldhouse by a final of 70-57.
The Lady Buffs were led by junior
Heather Mandela (Fairfax, Va.) who recorded 20 points and nine rebounds on the night. Sophomore
Alisha Mainer (Flag Pond, Tenn.) notched 12 points and seven rebounds, while senior
Brit White (Chuckey, Tenn.) pitched in eight points and eight rebounds for the home team in the victory. ÂÂ
“Tonight was a good night for us,” commented Head Coach
Rich Aubrey. “This was a game that we like to have early in the season to test us and see what we do in certain situations. Lees-McRae is a quick team which was good for us to match up against.”ÂÂ
With the win, the Lady Buffs are now 4-1 overall. ÂÂ
Additionally, Mandela currently ranks first in the nation in total rebounds with 50 and fifth in total scoring with 97. ÂÂ
The Lady Buffs play host to Brenau (Ga.) University Thursday, Nov. 12, in Steve Lacy Fieldhouse for a 6 p.m. tip-off.   ÂÂ
