Milligan College, Tenn. (Nov. 7, 2009) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team won their AAC quarterfinal matchup against Montreat College Saturday afternoon on Anglin field of 3-0. ÂÂ
The Lady Buffs controlled the game from the beginning with an early goal in the seventh minute off of an assist from
Lauren Lameier (Woodstock, Ga.),
sophomore
Nine Henriksson (Goteborg, Sweden) was able to convert for the opening goal. At the break, the Lady Buffs had a 1-0 lead over the Lady Cavs. ÂÂ
In the second half, sophomore
Britta Widenhouse (Lake Wylie, S.C.) found the back of the net compliments of a double-assist from
Samantha Barton (Marietta, Ga.) and
Erin Brewer (Brownsburg, Ind.) to extend the home team's lead.
Just minutes later Barton tacked on her second assist of the night to sophomore
Rachel Martin (Blountville, Tenn.) to give the Lady Buffs a commanding 3-0 lead.

Heather Crumplen (Courtice, Ontario) recorded her third straight shutout with nine saves on goal. ÂÂ
“It good to get a 3-0 win heading into the semi-final round,” commented Head Coach
Lisa Buckley. “I am very pleased that we are one of four teams left, and I feel it puts us in a great position heading into the semifinals next week. We are going to work hard this week and hopefully be prepared to head to Union Friday.”ÂÂ
Milligan heads to the AAC semifinal round Friday, Nov. 13, as they will take on the Lady Lions of Bryan College in the early contest.
