Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lady Buffs lose to Golden Eagles

Milligan College, Tenn. (Dec. 12, 2009) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team fell on the road Saturday afternoon to the Golden Eagles of Brenau (Ga.) University in non-conference action, 84-75.

Offensively, the Lady Buffs were led by junior Heather Mandela (Fairfax, Va.) with a 28 point and 15 rebound performance, marking her eighth double-double of the season. Freshman Jaimee Hill (Johnson City, Tenn.) tacked on 12 points and three assists in the effort, while freshman Victoria Dailey (Knoxville, Tenn.) had nine points.

“We played much better in the second half,” commented Head Coach Rich Aubrey. “They shot very well from beyond the arc, whereas we struggled from 3-point range. Tomorrow, we just have to come out and play with more confidence and be more consistent through the entire game.”

With the loss, the Lady Buffs fall to 9-4 on the year, and remain 3-0 in the AAC.

The Milligan women remain in Georgia for their next contest against No. 21 Southern Polytechnic State University on Sunday, Dec. 13. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. against the Lady Hornets.
