Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lady Buffs soccer ties WVU-Tech

Milligan College, Tenn. (August 29, 2009) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team had their first road game of the year as they took on the West Virginia University-Institute of Technology (Montgomery, W.V.). After two overtimes, the Lady Buffs and the Golden Bears were still even resulting in a 0-0 tie.

The Lady Buffs had ample opportunities to finish off the Golden Bears Saturday, but had difficulty converting. Milligan led WVU-Tech in shots on goal, 18-4, during the contest.

Rachel Martin was fantastic tonight,” commented Head Coach Lisa Buckley. “She had a lot of good looks but just did not get it in the net.”

Freshman goalkeeper Heather Crumplen (Courtice, Ontario) had a solid outing for the Lady Buffs, as she tallied three saves keeping the game at a stalemate.

“We have to find a way to score when we have opportunities because when we do not, it puts extra pressure on us as a team.” added Buckley.

The Lady Buffs return home on Saturday, Sept. 5, to take on Roanoke College (Roanoke, Va.). The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
