Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lady Buffs break even with Lady Scots

Milligan College, Tenn. (Sept. 12, 2009) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team battled the Lady Scots of Covenant College (Lookout Mountain, Ga.) Saturday on Anglin Field. After a double overtime matchup, the Lady Buffs and the Lady Scots broke even 0-0.

The defensive battled was headed up by freshman keeper Heather Crumplen (Courtice, Ontario) who kept the Lady Buffs in the game making several crucial saves down the stretch for the home team. Crumplen tallied 10 saves during the contest, including three game saving efforts late in the second half to keep the Lady Buffs alive.

Offensively, Milligan chalked up nine shots on goal during the game.

“I thought we played well today, but we still have to clean up every facet of our game,” commented Head Coach Lisa Buckley. “We had three or four opportunities to win and just could not convert. The team played hard late in overtime which shows how much heart we have which is good to see heading into conference play.”

The Lady Buffs travel to Bryan College (Dayton, Tenn.) on Saturday, Sept. 19, for their first AAC contest of the season. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
