Milligan College, Tenn. (Sept. 29, 2009) --- The Milligan College volleyball team blew past the Lady Cavaliers of UVA-Wise Tuesday night in Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. The Lady Buffs (8-6, 3-2) knocked off the Lady Cavs (5-11, 2-6) in three straight sets (25-19, 25-16, 28-26).

AAC setter of the week Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.) recorded her fifth double-double of the year with 28 assists and 12 digs. Leading the Lady Buffs offensively was junior Bianca Burnett (Cookeville, Tenn.) who tallied 10 kills. The senior duo of Kalyn Perrigan (Bristol, Tenn.) and Meredith Lynch (Lexington, Ky.) pitched in seven and six kills apiece, respectively.   

“It's great to get another conference win under our belt,” commented Head Coach Doneva Bays. “I think two keys to our success tonight were our team blocking and our outside hitting.”

The Lady Buffs travel to take on AAC foe Montreat College (Montreat, N.C.) on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 6:30 p.m.
