Milligan College, Tenn. (Jan. 18, 2010) --- Milligan College junior transfer Cordero Seymour (Inagua, Bahamas) was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference earlier today.  

Seymour, a 6-foot-5 forward, averaged 29 points and 12.3 rebounds per contest this past week, including two games over 30 points. For the week, Seymour tallied 87 points all while shooting 68.2 percent from the field and 75 percent from the charity stripe. An all around player, Seymour also recorded seven blocks, four steals and three assists. 

In the AAC, Seymour is currently leading the league in points per game with 17.69 and ranked third in field goal percentage at 55.3. He is also ranked third in total rebounds per game with 9.06. Nationally, Seymour is ranked 12th in defensive rebounds per game (6.625) and 25th in total rebounds per game.  

“Cordero has been the man for us this season, and obviously he has turned it on here in the last week,” commented Head Coach Bill Robinson, on Seymour. “We need to continue to feed him the ball in the post because he has made better decisions when he has the opportunity to score. I feel like he's getting better and better every day.”  

The Milligan College men were 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the league. The Buffs had quality wins over Tennessee Temple University and Virginia Intermont, and their lone loss came in a heartbreaker, 65-62, to AAC newcomer Reinhardt (Ga.) College. For the year, the Buffs are 6-10 overall and 3-4 in the AAC where they currently three games out of first place.   

Seymour and company travel to Bristol, Tenn., tonight to take on former AAC foe King (Tenn.) College in a non-conference battle scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside the Student Center.
