Milligan defeats VI in double overtime

Bristol, Va. (Oct. 13, 2010) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team picked up a road conference victory on Wednesday night as they defeated Virginia Intermont 1-0 in double overtime in Bristol, Va.

The Buffs won the game when Daniel Fuller (Planfield, IN) scored on a penalty kick in the 108th minute. Sandre Wilson (Mandeville, Jamaica) drew the foul that set up Fuller's kick.

“It was a good battle, and we got the result that we wanted to keep us in contention in the conference race,” Head Coach Adam Laney said. “I am really proud of that. Now, we have to prepare for King, and then turn around and battle Bryan in an important conference game.”

With the win, Milligan moves to 6-6 overall and 4-1 in AAC action.

The Buffs will travel to Bristol, Tenn., on Tuesday, Oct. 19, to take on former AAC rival King College. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
