Wilson powers Buffs past King

Bristol, Tenn. (Oct. 19, 2010) --- The Milligan College men's soccer team saw Sandre Wilson (Mandeville, Jamaica) score three goals as the Buffs knocked off former AAC rival King College 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday afternoon at Parks Field in Bristol, Tenn.

In the first half, the Buffs were unable to match an early King goal as the Tornado led 1-0 at the break. Wilson answered for Milligan in the 49th minute to tie the game, and then gave the Buffs the lead in the 51st minute. King tied the game in the 81st minute. Alex Haun (Strawberry Plains, TN) prevented the King victory in regulation with a diving save in the closing minutes of the game.

In the overtime period, Wilson found the net with just 35 seconds remaining in the period as his goal in the 99th minute gave the Buffs the 3-2 victory.

Defensively, Haun recorded eight saves for the Buffs.

With the win, Milligan improves to 7-6 overall and remains at 4-1 in conference play.

The Buffs return to AAC play on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Dayton, Tenn., for a conference clash with Bryan College. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
