Slow start hinders Buffs at Union

Barbourville, Ky. (Feb. 1, 2010) --- The Milligan College men's basketball team fell to AAC foe Union (Ky.) College Monday night in AAC action inside of Robsion Arena by a final of 78-69.

The Buffs trailed the Bulldogs at the break 39-29, compliments of Union's hot shooting hand from the field. The Bulldogs were an impressive 57.1 percent from field goal range in the first half, as opposed to Milligan's 44 percent.

Milligan put up a good fight in the second half as they outscored the home team 40-39, but their effort was not enough as they fell to the third ranked Bulldogs.

Offensively, junior Cordero Seymour (Inagua, Bahamas) led all scorers with his 25 point and nine rebound performance. Milligan point-guard Bryant Edwards (Tabor City, N.C.) was next for the visitors as he tallied nine points and four assists, while Justin Sylvester (Kingsport, Tenn.) also had nine points.

For the Bulldogs, Curtis Stephens led the way with 20 points, followed closely by Darrel Jackson with 17 in the contest. Josh Hurd rounded out Union's double-digit scorers with 13 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting night from the floor.
