Milligan College, Tenn. (April 8, 2010) --- The Milligan College Buff baseball squad moved into the top 20 after they spent last week ranked 25th as they were ranked 20th in the latest poll unveiled by the NAIA national office this week.
"We are definitely proud of how hard our guys have worked to get where we currently are,” Head Coach Nathan Meade said. “That being said, our biggest games are ahead of us starting this weekend. It's not necessarily how you start but how you finish and with four conference weekends remaining, we still have alot of work to do against some very good competition."
The Buffs are 23-10 overall and a league best 12-3 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play. The Buffs are ranked in the top 15 in six different statistical categories including ninth in opponent batting average (0.245) and tenth in hits allowed (6.667).
“We have a very competitive league and things can change very quickly when it comes to standings,” Meade said. “Our guys understand our schedule and understand the hard work that they have ahead of them. Our focus is not on the end result right now but rather on trying to find a way to win one game at a time."
Milligan hosts Emory and Henry on Thursday evening and travel to Dayton, Tenn. for a three game series with conference foe Bryan College on Friday and Saturday.
