Buffs fall in regular season finale

Bluefield, Va. (May 2, 2010) --- The Milligan College Buff baseball team closed out the regular season on Sunday afternoon with a 9-5 loss in a nine inning AAC contest at Bluefield College. 

On the mound, Colin Duffie (Calhoun, Ga.) recorded the loss for Milligan. In four innings of work, Duffie allowed five hits and gave up five runs.  

Offensively, Eric Oxley (Ardmore, Tenn.) was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, a run scored and a walk. The senior Oxley also had a steal in the contest to bring his total on the year to 19, just three shy of the Milligan single season record, and a season after recording 20 stolen bases. Brett Maddox (Lake Butler, Fla.) was 1-for-3 with an RBI in the game. 

With the loss, Milligan falls to 29-19 overall and 17-10 in AAC play, while Bluefield improves to 17-9 in conference play and 35-13 overall.  

The Buffs will return to action during the AAC tournament on May 7-12, at Hunter Wright Stadium in Kingsport, Tenn.
